I am not a "gossiper". I don't follow any celebrities, and I don't even have cable ran to my television. I find the idea of talking about people behind their backs counter-productive and immature. If you want to learn information about someone, the best thing to do is ask sombody personally.
I think a big problem with todays society is how anti-social and afraid of each other we have become. People would rather text than call. They would rather chat over facebook than meet with you in person. And they would rather talk about celebrities and their faults and mistakes than trying to improve their own lives.
The point here is that of all the things people could be discussing or researching that would better their lives and situations, or at least broaden their understanding of the way the world works; they instead choose to concentrate on the only things that make the world a worse place.

Control
There are some who would argue and totally believe that control is a great and wonderful tool in society. One could say that absolute control provides absolute security and safety. How much protection do we really need from ourselves though? I for one would choose freedom over a sense of security every day. Most people don't care. Most people would prefer to go about their daily lives and just want to be left alone, even when public policy is being passed daily that restricts their personal liberties and freedoms. The time to get involved is now. Right now, humanity is at its' most pivotal point in history, and there is a choice in front of all of us: Do nothing; let those in power keep exploiting, polluting, and poisoning all of us and the fragile ecosystem that we all rely on. Or we use the tools at our disposal to organize, rise up, and overthrow the tyranny that the corporatacracy has forced upon us. There is still time. What will it be? A new golden era for mankind, or imminent armageddon?
The control over us all did not happen overnight. The first step was to get us all competing against ourselves, planting seeds of distrust among us. The culture of our society is one of "dog-eat-dog" or "every man for himself". One of the biggest lies spoon-fed to us is that "If you aren't successful in life, it is your own fault". Once attention was directed inward towards the individual, ever looking over his shoulder, convinced that his fellow man would kill him to elevate his own status; that is when the global elite worked to control all of the money completely. This is ever more obvious as giant banks and corporations merge or acquire one another.
The step that irritates me the most is control over all of our food. Unless you hunt for or raise all of your meat yourself and grow all of your own fruits, vegetables, and grain; chances are that it is poisoned. Now there isn't arsenic in your steak, but more than likely there are growth hormones, steroids, and antibiotics pumped into it. Not to mention the counter-productive procedures of the current agriculture industry. Rain forests don't need to be cut down in order to free up more acreage for cultivation. Likewise, a McDonalds burger should not cost less than a pound of uncooked, organically raised, ground beef. The McDonalds burger certainly takes more to produce. The reason it is cheaper is the direct result of government subsidies given to certain agri-businesses by former employees (that still hold stock in the company) that currently hold upper government positions. Factory farms are more than unsanitary; they are disgusting, and they are as far from natural as you could possibly get short of cloning all your beef in a lab. It is little wonder why hospitals are overflowing, social security is collapsing on itself, there are new exotic "super viruses" and diseases breaking out across the world. Government and corporate scientists can make all the claims they want of "safety" and testing, but the hard truth is that over the past fifty years we have been conducting the largest, most unprecedented experiment on all of humanity without knowing the outcome. Well, we are witnessing the outcome now. One in every three children born after 2000 has or will have diabetes. Heart disease, heart attacks, all forms of cancer, kidney failure, fatty liver, and countless other horrendous illnesses have been occurring in record numbers. Preventative medicine is not a popular topic anywhere because the pharmaceutical companies make so much money on these illnesses while the actual people are suffering unimaginable pain.
There is no choice anymore, only the illusion of choice. Everything you see in your local supermarket was produced by one of only a handful of corporations. America is supposed to be "free" but how free can it possibly be if our options are so limited that all of our money inevitably ends up in the same small group of hands?
Nikola Tesla, (7/10/1856-1/7/1943) the great inventor, made an engine at the turn of the twentieth century that took no fuel to operate. He understood that there is already limitless energy surrounding us in the form of magnetism (which is ultimately a result of gravity itself). This same engine could have potentially powered every single house, building, automobile, even down to the handheld electronics we hold so dear, completely wireless and completely FREE!!! Of course the already growing energy tycoons, raking in millions (even back then) could not let him succeed in giving his device to the public, so he was labeled as a "mad scientist" and all of his works discredited as magnificent as they were.
Whats that? You've never even heard of Nikoli Tesla? I would hope by this point you can figure out just why they don't teach about him and his works in school.
We are trusting a select few greedy people to run every single aspect of our lives. If you're ok with that, then keep on doing nothing. If not, get in the streets and be heard.
